GI effects: diarrhea, N& V, abdominal pain BM depression, aplastic anemia, agranulocytosis & Alopecia (long term use) CNS effects: HA, vertigo, confusion GI effects: diarrhea, abdominal pain
2. Indomethacin
inhibits COX--> anti-inflammatory Effect
acute gout (DOC)
3. Probenecid
inhibits reabsorption of uric acid
chronic gout
potentiate effect of penicillin Acute gouty attacks hypersensitivity reactions acute gouty attacks GI upset
4. Allopurinol
inhibits xanthine oxidase --> decrease conversion of xanthine to uric acid
