							                                     Ordsall Board


          They pulled our ‘ouse down when I was a kid
                  They said we lived in Slums
   So now my Nana’s got a chain on the door of her high-rise flat
               And the “Knocker Up” never comes

              They’ve took The Swings down from Ordsall Park
                        They’ve even took The Slide
               The Roundabout’s gone, and The Summer Shed
                          Where we used to hide

                         Now I know we need some changes
                            ‘cause it’s progress after all
                          But did it really have to happen?
                         Did Ordsall Board also have to fall?

                         She stands there proud & fearless
                           Among the planner’s dreams
                            Did we really have to suffer
                        Their high-tech, high-rise schemes?

            Now I know the pen is far mightier than the sword
                    I know it’s true ‘cause I’ve seen it
                        ‘cause they’ve boarded up
                               Ordsall Board.
