Catalog & Metadata Services Paid Time Off Policy Draft: December 21, 2007, revised February 2, 2008 Vacation Policy 1. Requests for vacation time should be submitted with as much advance notice as possible. For a vacation lasting 1 week or more, supervisors would like notification of at least 1 week. 2. Requests for vacation time will be approved by the immediate supervisor, or another designated supervisor. Call in Policy for Sick Time and Personal Time 1. Staff must report absences to their immediate supervisor, or another designated staff member. 2. Staff should report sick and personal time absences at the beginning of their work day. 3. Staff should report absences in at least one of the following ways: by speaking directly to their immediate supervisor, or other designated staff member by emailing their immediate supervisor, or other designated staff member. by leaving a voice mail message reporting their impending absence, and the reason for it, to their immediate supervisor, other designated staff member If the staff member’s condition prevents giving such notification, s/he should contact their supervisor as soon as they are able. Personal Day Policy Every staff member receives four personal days per year. These personal days will be granted in hours to C&T staff and in days to M&P staff at their request. When possible, advance notification is appreciated to minimize operational disruptions. Note about Team Calendars As much as possible, we would like to record absences of Team members on their Team calendars. This record will help other department staff, who need to consult colleagues about work issues.
