2005/06
             •   Responsible for all aspects of customer service including IT support;
             •   Sole responsibility for management of public computers – this
                 involved policing their use and offering basic training as well as
                 solving any networking problems;
             •   Developed excellent knowledge of all library resources and was able
                 to make use of this when assisting library users;
             •   Worked in a team of eight people and had regular meetings to ensure
                 smooth operation of the library;
             •   Managed small budget for buying selected GCSE and A level text
                 books/supporting literature.
Summer         General Assistant, Manor Homes for the Elderly, Collingley
2003
               •   Duties included social activities with residents and their visitors,
                   cleaning and cooking;
               •   Developed patience, self-confidence and the ability to communicate
                   effectively with people from a wide range of backgrounds.



Achievements
Final year     - Elected to Student Union Council as Community Action Secretary,
                 Acting to represent this group within the wider university;
2nd year       - Chairperson of University Union Community Action Society (student-
                 Run volunteer organisation). This involves scheduling meetings, events
                 And organising campaigns;
1st year       - Since starting university I have been a volunteer for University Union
to present       Nightline. I have been trained as a telephone counsellor and am on duty
                 one night a week to receive calls.


Additional Skills

IT             - Good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Powerpoint;
Languages      - good standard of written and conversational French developed through
                  regular trips to France with friends;
Driving        - I hold a full, clean driving licence.


Interests

I enjoy camping and outdoor activities and have recently learned to ski. I make good use
of the University sports facilities particularly swimming, badminton and circuit training.
