JOB DESCRIPTION Direct, manage and coordinate timely and effective organization accounting and financial reporting in accordance with organization policy and legislative requirements. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Integrate festival and department goals; create and monitor budgets for departments and projects; and communicate to employees. Ensure the development, implementation, compliance with and maintenance of organization financial and accounting policies in accordance with generally accepted accounting standards. Analyse the organization's financial position on a regular basis, based on business strategies, actual and forecast revenue/budget and provide reports with observations/recommendations to the board of directors. Create and manage cash-flow analyses of the festival and advise production and creative directorship in the planning of programming and events. Forecast and manage financial risk of the festival; forecast organization growth and advise on its impact on festival management structure. Oversees the fulfillment of tax returns, insurance, and other reports required by government regulations; deals with auditors, external accountants, and others on financial matters as organization spokesperson. Oversee and direct the activities of the organization's finance and accounting staff in all areas of accounts payable and accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, investments, and related areas. Plan and ensure optimum use of resources; administer and monitor use against budget. Co-ordinate preparation of annual and quarterly budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections to guide financial management of the organization. Participate in board relations activities, general financial planning and funds management; may also be responsible for insurance and risk management. Approve exceptions to policy after review and in-depth evaluation; identify whether review by the board of directors is required. Develop business case for recommendation to senior management concerning changes of corporate policies, technological approaches, or business sector focus. Ensure awareness of and compliance with all applicable employment, environmental, health and safety legislation. ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee insurance reporting, show settling and float recycling for shows and activities where applicable.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelors degree in a financial management or commerce discipline, Masters in Business Administration or equivalent preferred. 2 years (minimum) experience in general corporate accounting. Certification in a recognized professional designation is preferred. SPECIALIZED SKILLS Broad knowledge of and ongoing awareness of accounting principles and regulations governing business accounting and taxation rules. Effective leadership, interpersonal and analytical skills and attention to detail. WORK TOOLS USED Computers, peripheral equipment and financial software tools; QuickBooks and Excel. WORKING CONDITIONS Moderate visual concentration in use of video display terminal. Frequent pressure to meet deadlines. Frequent high stress levels associated with senior executive functions.
