RE: Temporary Traffic Control Plans Design Workshop

ODOT has scheduled three training sessions of “Temporary Traffic Control Plans Design
Workshop” training. This training provides Traffic Control Plan designers, inspectors and their
leaders the principles and practices of Traffic Control Plans (TCP) Design. A more detailed
description of the course is on the next page of this letter.
The classes are scheduled for these locations and dates:

        ODOT Human Resource Center, Salem, Oregon                  October 27-29, 2009
Class hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day.
The fee for the training is $150. The fee must be paid prior to taking the class. VISA, Master
Charge Cards, and checks will be accepted for payment. NO PURCHASE ORDERS WILL BE
ACCEPTED. (See the registration form for instructions and information.) PLEASE NOTE
CANCELLATION POLICY: You must cancel at least 11 working days prior to the workshop.
No refund will be made when cancellation occurs with 10 working days or less remaining before
the workshop.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC CONTROL PLANS DESIGN WORKSHOP

PURPOSE
This training provides Traffic Control Plan designers, inspectors and their leaders the
principles and practices of Traffic Control Plans (TCP) Design.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
The participant will be able to:
        Develop the basics of TCP design
        Identify TCP practices and devices
        Prepare TCP specifications
        Complete a TCP Cost Estimate for TCP

        TCP Control Devices
        Specifications and Cost Estimates for TCP

PREREQUISITES
A background in Roadway or Traffic experience is desirable.

DESIGNED FOR
Region Roadway Designers, Region Traffic Control Plan (TCP) Designers, Project
Managers, Inspectors, Team Leaders and Managers, Consultant and Local Agency.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT HOURS
Traffic Control Plans Design class will satisfy 21 of the Professional Development Hours
required by the Oregon State Board of Examiners for Engineering and Land Surveying
(OSBEELS) to renew a Professional Engineer (PE) License.
