Activation Fee – A one-time fee assessed to obtain the card. This fee is also called an application fee. Participation Fee – A card maintenance fee assessed annually or monthly. POS Transaction Fee – A point-of-sale fee assessed each time cardholder makes a purchase with their card. ATM Transaction Fee – A fee assessed each time cardholder uses their card to withdraw money from an Automated Teller Machine.
