Right after this five of us march in Manitowoc\'s Memorial Day Parade, and the rest ride in a charter bus behind our Color Guards, in the Parade. Our Post pays $75.00 for Denney\'s Senic Charter Bus.

Jim Krueser, Wisconsin State Assembly (Minority Whip); Micheal Myjzewski, Asst. to the Attorney General of the State of Wisconsin Department of Justice; Robert Zapf, Kenosha County District Attorney; John Morrissey, Chief of Kenosha Police Department; David Beth, Kenosha County Sheriff; and Mrs. Frank (Amy) Fabiano. The event was well attended by Officers from the Police Department and Deputies from the Sheriff's Department. We had also hoped that the honors team from King WI would be there that evening to explain how funeral details should be performed and that they would help certify some of the local veteran organizations, so that they would be able to receive V.A. stipends for services provided for funeral details. Unfortunately the team could not make it due to logistical time constraints. The meal provided to the volunteers from the post was excellent and the members who were present were thanked for their past help with the post Color Guard and Firing Squad details.

We were in our VFW uniforms and showed the children how to respect the flag, fold the flag, and what a Veteran is. This program started at 10 am. We then went to a bridge and did a 21 gun salute program over the water for Navy Veterans. We then proceeded to the High School and ate lunch with the High School Students. This was followed by a program starting at 1:00 pm. at which Comrade Ed Ross (VFW Post 6550 member) spoke to the students about the events leading up to WW 2 and the war itself. We ended the day by performing a 21 gun salute at the school.

He had a 5'x 7' flag that was flown over the National Capitol in honor of his father a WWII veteran, for a massacre that occurred. I conviced him to donate it to the Historical Society and have them put it on display with the story so that all would be able to see it. He agreed and it is now a permanent part of the Prescott Historical Society. Both the Prescott Journal and the Pierce County Herald papers carried the story. I guess I talked exceptionally well because in the club house he took out a lifetime membership. After putting up the POW/MIA display we stopped by the Kennedy Middle School and dropped off an application for the Patriot\'s Pen and Teacher Award.

Myself and several members noticed the flags on both the Emergency Services Building and city offices were in need of replacement. They were tattered, worn and faded. We decided that it wasn't just our duty to inform them of the problem but that we could fix it for them. Merlin Kosmosky took a couple flags to each building and presented them to those in charge.
