ANNUAL SCIENTIFIC ADVISORY COMMITTEE REVIEW & MEMBER
SELF ASSESSMENT


  1. ACAF members approaching the end of their first term with the Committee
     have in the past had their respective contributions to the performance of the
     Committee reviewed. This review has been carried out by the Chairman
     and Secretary of the Committee. Members have also in the past been asked
     to conduct a self-assessment at the end of their first year.

  2. A working group made up of members of FSA scientific advisory
     committee secretariats has agreed a common assessment procedure for all
     committees that advise the FSA.

  3. In future, members will be required to complete a self-assessment every
     year using the form attached. The form also asks committee members to
     assess their respective committees against the Good Practice Guidelines
     (previously circulated to members).

  4. The Secretariat will commence the first such exercise at the end of
     September 2007.
