Memorial Service for Betty Drury

Betty Drury, a former long time Chamber employee and an integral force in our Chamber, as well
as a beloved member of the Covington community, passed away on April 23. A memorial service
will be held this Saturday, July 19 at Saint Joseph’s Abbey. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. and
will be followed by a Memorial Mass at 2 p.m. The Drury family is inviting Chamber business
associates and friends who had the privilege and joy to work with Betty to come and honor her
memory.

Betty will be remembered by all who knew her for her warm graciousness, her creativity and her
boundless energy in fostering the goals of our Chamber from the late 1970s to the early 2000s.

Think Chamber First

Each week our Think Chamber First campaign will work to expand awareness of
the many ways each member can ultimately help our entire business community. As consumers
                                                                                   UPDATE 7 15 08

and businesses nationwide tighten their spending belts, we all feel the crunch and can benefit
from a focus to support one another.

This week, we encourage you to consider venturing into an area of Mandeville many of us have
been consciously avoiding because of the hassles of road construction along that section of Hwy.
190/Florida Street. Progress is upon us but it is not complete yet! Chamber member small
businesses in that area are having a difficult time—we have listed them below. They would be
most appreciative of any support or encouragement, especially purchase of their products or
services or referrals you could send their way.
