Technology Instructional Support Teacher (IST)
The purpose of the Technology IST in the ECSD is to bring technology instructional support to teachers and students in the classroom. The IST is a teacher who serves as a support to classroom teachers and supports staff to meet the needs of students. The IST has no assigned classes or claseload of students. Working with staff, through a student data-informed, problem-solving process, the IST assists teachers and support staff in implementing effective research0based practices in technology, instruction, and assessment through the following: The District-Wide Technology IST: • Will have a very strong background in both theory and the practice of technology education. Additionally, the technology IST will demonstrate the ability to share that knowledge and experience with their colleagues in an effective way. • Provides support and assistance to all classroom teachers in the full and skillful implementation of ECSD technology initiatives. • Will assist in the analysis and utilization of assessment data to improve student achievement. • Will act as a resource for technology integration. This will include developing lessons, assessments and extension activities utilizing technology. • Will model instructional strategies and practices through staff development and within the classroom for teacher and paraprofessionals to promote technology proficiency. • Will provide meaningful and well-planned staff development and training to teacher and support staff. • Will serve as a support and resource to technology teachers to design instruction as a result of assessment. • Will serve as a resource in identifying appropriate instructional strategies and intervention to improve student achievement for all students including English Language Learners, students enrolled in Special Education programs and student with diverse learning needs.

FINGERPRINTING FEE NOTICE
To the Perspective Employee:
New York State requires fingerprinting of all school district employees. The cost is $94.25. It is the responsibility of the employee to pay this fee, however the Elmira City School District will enter into an agreement herein where at the time of fingerprinting you will pay the District $20.00 down by check or money order payable to the Elmira City School District. The remainder of $74.25 may either be paid in full at the time of fingerprinting or be deducted from your paycheck according to the following schedule:
Full time positions of thirty hours or more and/or receiving benefits agree to have $16 deducted from their pay bi-monthly until the fee is paid. Substitute or part time positions of 25 hours or less and without benefits agree to have $8.00 deducted from their pay on a bi-monthly basis until the fee is paid.
