It takes place at BoR unless otherwise specified. The point where the handoff of control takes place is often underlined in this document. Handoffs of communication shall be made latest 10 NM prior to handoff of control. After handoff, traffic is NOT released for climb, descent, turns or changes on speed restrictions unless otherwise specified in the regulations below. Handoff with F4 shall be made before handoff of communication Traffic leaving Swiss FIR AoR shall be handed of on a valid exit point or route Traffic entering Swiss FIR AoR shall be handed of on a valid entry point or route If not otherwise agreed, direct routings into the next AoR shall be coordinated. Swiss FIR is using the North/South-rule (North EVEN, South ODD). Exception: UL856 is even till PENDU, UN871 from KUDES is ODD. Spacing between two aircraft on same level and same routing crossing BoR shall be at least 10 NM if the speed of the succeeding traffic is equal or less than the speed of the preceding traffic, otherwise at least 15 NM. Spacing deviating from this regulation shall be coordinated. Turn releases allow a maximum turn of 45° unless otherwise defined. Releases are always in regard to other traffic. All level restrictions are maximum levels. Lower level can be assigned at discretion of the responsible controller without any coordination Traffic which is not handed off at a level mentioned in this LOA shall be on an odd FL when flying southbound and on an event FL when flying northbound. Maximal FLs higher than FL390 are not explicitly stated. If not otherwise specified, traffic shall be in level flight when crossing BoR. FLxxx / FLxxx means „descending / climbing to a specified FL“, without any further restriction. In that case, traffic must NOT be in level flight when crossing BoR. For climbing traffic higher level may be assigned regardless the regulations below preconditioned that traffic reaches cleared level before crossing BoR. If a traffic situation is not covered herein, individual coordination between the concerned sectors shall be made. Agreements between controllers always have higher priority than regulations defined in this LoA. Unless otherwise agreed, general agreements remain active until cancelled by either side but not longer than until 0000z unless otherwise agreed. If according to this LOA, no station to a certain flight is online, the controller shall coordinate with other ATC stations that could possibly take the plane or release the flight.
