GUIDELINES FOR LETTER OF INTENT Applicants are expected to present their brief proposals in the form of a LETTER OF INTENT containing the information listed below. Brief explanations are provided under each heading. The applicants should aim for a total length of the Letter of Intent of 1 page (maximum 500 words).
Letter of Intent should be accompanied by a completed Project Application Form (link please download) and both documents must be submitted electronically (via e-mail only) by but not later than on October 30, 2007, to the following addresses: Applications from Bulgaria: Applications from the Czech Republic: Applications from Hungary: Applications from Poland: Applications from Romania: Applications from Slovakia: Letter of Intent should include: 1) Project title 2) Name of the applicant and partners Applicants should also provide the CEE Trust with information about potential partners within the framework of the proposed projects. A partner could be an organization that will be directly involved in the implementation of the project, or an unregistered community group, or organizations that support the project or will be involved in some other way in applicants’ work. Please note that having partners is not a requirement for funding and that the contracting party with the CEE Trust will be the applicant organization. How do you propose (or plan) to achieve your goal and objectives? 7) Expected impact How is your project expected to influence the identified problem? Or how do you expect your project will influence the identified problem? 8) Expected funding (in USD) Applications should include: 1) Total budget of the proposed project – please do not provide the CEE Trust with detailed budgets; 2) Amount requested from the CEE Trust. Please note that the budget should be calculated in US dollars. The CEE Trust encourages applicants to raise part of the budget from other sources. However, this is not an obligatory requirement. How will we evaluate letters of intent? Or How will the letters of intent be evaluated? The CEE Trust will assess and identify short-listed organizations based on the following criteria: 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6) 7) quality of the context analysis and problem identification; relevance and justification of the proposed strategy; adherence to the CEE Trust mission and program funding areas; knowledge and practical experience in program implementation; financial and operational capacity; scope and value of potential partnerships; governance structure.
Please note that the acceptance of your letter of intent DOES NOT guarantee that your full proposal will be funded. Please note that each organization may apply with ONLY ONE letter of intent at a time. Short-listed organizations will be notified by November 30, 2007.
