SAMPLE LETTER OF INVITATION
Dear ______________, On behalf of (name of parish community), I invite you to lead a Disciples in Mission small group for the six weeks of Lent. The purpose of the small groups is to reflect on the Sunday Lectionary readings and the ways in which the revealed word of God impacts our faith and life. You will facilitate the participants’ faith-sharing experience. Questions for discussion, ways to take action, prayer, and fellowship are part of this experience. The Disciples in Mission Small Group Participant’s Booklet provides all the material for the group members. You will also be given a Small Group Leader’s Guide to help you plan and lead the meetings. We will train you for this ministry at one of the following sessions; you may choose the one that best suits your schedule: Training Session 1: (date, times, location, etc.) Training Session 2: (date, times, location, etc.) (Etc.) Someone from our Parish Leadership Team will call you in a week to follow up on this letter. In the meantime, please read over the enclosed brochure on Disciples in Mission and prayerfully consider this ministry of leadership. If you wish to be involved, please think about what day and time you would be able to lead a 90-minute weekly meeting. Sincerely, (Your name) (Your coordinator position) Enclosures: Disciples in Mission Brochure
