DESIGN PROJECT BRIEF 1. What is the purpose of this project? What do you want it to do for you? 2. Who is your target audience? 3. What image/impression do you want to communicate with this project? How do you want your business to be represented? (Examples: Simple and clean; professional; conservative; creative; friendly) 4. For websites: a. Please list the major sections that you would like to have on your website. b. If you currently have a website, what do you want to improve on your current site? Are there parts of your current website that you do NOT want to change? c. Please list any websites you have seen that you feel are good examples of how you want your own website to look and/or function, and a brief description of why. (Examples: Do you like the use of the graphics or photography, navigation, colors, how well it communicates a message? Do you like the style—is it personal, professional, flashy, simple?) d. Will multimedia content be needed? (i.e. animation, audio/video clips, etc.) e. If you do not currently have a website, will you need domain-name registration and hosting services? f. Do you plan to maintain the site after launch, or do you require ongoing maintenance services? If you require maintenance services, how frequently will new content need to be added to the website? 5. For print projects: a. Do you require printing services for this project? If so, please estimate the quantity of pieces you will need to have printed. 6. Do you already have business identity/branding in place (logo, corporate colors, etc.)? If not, will branding (or re-branding) be a part of this project? 7. Does your company have a marketing strategy and/or a mission statement? 8. Will you provide the written content for this project or do you need copy writing services? If you plan to provide the content, will you need proofreading and editing services? 9. Do you have a budget for this project? 10. What is the timeframe for this project?
