A little resort with a private beach and beautiful charming cottages, surrounded by a luxuriant tropical garden. In perfect harmony with the natural environment, Kichanga Lodge is an unforgettable place for those who love nature and romantic atmospheres. The Archipelago of Zanzibar is located in front of the coast of Tanzania and is composed by the seductive island of Unguja, also called Zanzibar, surrounded by little golden islands and coral atolls that are very much appreciated by snorkellers and divers.
Zanzibar, seductive destination, which in the past was better known as “ the island of spices” , is a real paradise for our senses; you are overwhelmed by the scent of its plantations , its beautiful natural colors , the deep green forests in the inland and the turquoise color of the sea. Kichanga Lodge is located about 65 kilometers from Stone Town and the airport , on the northern tip of the South East peninsula. It takes about 1 hour by car to get to the Lodge from the airport.
There are 24 spacious sea view rooms in total, in different categories: 6 double bungalow rooms with garden and ocean view with airconditioning, 9 single ocean front bungalows , 4 double rooms ocean front bungalows, 3 Villas Front Ocean View and 1 VIP Suite.
All the rooms have sea view, and are tastefully furnished with African arts and Zanzibari furniture, mosquito nets, fans, a room safe, minibar, attached bathroom with hot and cold water, and hair dryer The main building on the top of the cliff hosts the reception, restaurant and bar, internet point and library.
The very spacious and finely furnished bungalow rooms are in African style with large beds, mosquito nets, ceiling fan, safe, mini-bar, hair dryer, wardrobe room and en-suite bathroom with shower.
All of Kichanga's bungalows and villas have large wooden verandas with Makuti thatch roofs. There are 18 double bungalows, 12 with panoramic beach and ocean view and 6 with garden view, 4 villas and 1 suite . Some of the bungalows have inter-connecting veranda doors which are suitable for families.

The club-house accommodates the bar and restaurant, reception area and internet/telephone facilities (facility). A second bar is located near by the swimming pool. On the beach, a charming wooden hut hosts the massage center. The Club House hosts the restaurant and main bar of the lodge and the reception area with phone and internet facilities. Kichanga Lodge is famous for its exquisite cuisine: local dishes are tastefully mixed with International and Italian cuisine, accurately prepared by the restaurant chef and served under the huge Makuti roof with a spectacular view. Special romantic dinners can be organized upon request on the roof terrace. The main bar serves a cosy lounge area where the guests can relax enjoying tropical cocktails and playing one of the numerous local games at their disposal. Mountain bikes are available to ride for miles along the south east beach of Zanzibar and explore the fishing villages in this stretch of coast. Canoes, skateboard kites , beach-volley and bowling are also available on the beach. There is a PADI dive center on site which provides courses for all levels as well as diving for experienced divers. The center organizes rewarding snorkeling excursions around the island. Several excursions through the island are proposed and organized by the Lodge management to discover Zanzibar. Kichanga also offers a courtesy library and few moment of entertainment for the guests that likes to experience the local culture, such as for example the Masai market and tribal dances in front of the bonfire in the Masai camp of the lodge . Built on a coral reef above a white beach and surrounded by a wonderful tropical garden, all of the bungalows are in pure African style, with a wooden veranda and Makuti thatch roof. Regular bungalows have king-size bedrooms, wardrobe room and bathroom with shower. Villas have wide verandhas with a wonderful view on the Indian Ocean and direct access to the beach. With a second bedroom on the mezzanine , Kichanga's villas are perfect for families. The Vip Suite is a unique accommodation that combines the charm of the purest African style to a breathless view for an unforgettable romantic holiday. All of the rooms are tastefully furnished with African and Zanzibari art crafts, mosquito nets, fans, safe, mini bar, hair-dryer.
