     Surely you have heard of detoxing, right? It seems to be the new trend today and everyone is doing
it. There are some called the celebrity detox also known as the lemon detox. There are other methods
as well. Some detox systems guarantee results in 3 days. Then there is some that promise results in
28 days.

It all depends on what you do and what you consume as far as how your body will respond to a detox.
The fact is... you WILL NOT get a "total body detox" in a quick fix, three-day program. The point of the
detox is to TOTALLY clean out your system. So there are ways that you can completely reap all of the
benefits of a detox.

The Secret?

Take it slow. There are many things that you need to consider when you start a detox. In order for your
body to gain the full benefits of a good detox, you will have to start out slow. Decrease your toxic
intake. I mean slow down on the smoking, drinking, and caffeine.

Start by drinking juices and water, while cutting down on junk food. From there you can start adding
raw vegetables and get yourself down to one regular meal. This makes it so much easier on your body
to where you can finally be well on your way to a detox.

The first couple of days are crucial and they are the hardest. Your body is adjusting to the new eating
style. You may notice some things like frequent visits to the bathroom and decreased appetite. This is
good and it is normal as well.

Another way to take full advantage of a total body detox is to make sure that you accompany the diet
with a good vitamin supplement. It is good for your body to get all of the nutrients and vitamins that it
needs in order to properly detox and restore all of what it needs to function properly.

Avoid vegetables that are laden with pesticides. The best thing to do is purchase them from a private
farmer verses a grocery store. Buy drinking water, because tap water is already full of toxins like
chlorine. Make sure that the juices that you get are pure and not concentrated.

remember. Try to keep with proper eating on a daily basis to ensure that your body stays rid of these
chemicals and toxins. It is also recommended that we detox at least two to four times a year. This

 If you are like most people, you have probably read in more than a few places that detoxification of the
body can do wonders for a variety of medical conditions and if you have checked into you have
probably found that there are a variety of elements that make doing a home body detox less than
appealing. In fact, most home body detox program outlines sound down right unpleasant, painful and
often times leave you feeling incredibly ill for several days. Of course, with an outline like that who is
going to want to do it on a regular basis, there are other ways however, to detox the body and do it in
such a way that you only feel how much better you feel and you are not dealing with the harmful and
often painful side effects.

This is not to say that you will feel no discomfort. You probably will feel some as your body starts to
release the toxins that you have had built up within the body. It will not however be as bad as the
detoxification programs that you read about that involve taking diuretics and purgatives and fasting.

There are however safe home body detox programs that can provide you with the benefits of
detoxification with only minimal discomfort. This is a longer program than what most people think of as
a detox. Most people think of the weekend detox program or the ones that last only a week. Studies
have shown however that detoxification of the body in order for it to be complete takes a total of 3
months and involves significantly more than doing the harsh purge detox programs that currently hold

A home body detox program should take 28 days. It should be done in such a way that symptoms from
the detoxification are kept to a minimum. After all, who is going to want to maintain a diet and program
to cleanse the body if it makes you feel worse than before you started.

Do not just jump right into a home body detox program. Due to the high levels of processed foods,
carbohydrates and caffeine that most people intake jumping right in can cause serious side effects as
you go through withdrawal from these substances. It is best if you start several weeks earlier and begin
lowering your intake of these substances until you no longer crave them. This will make it easier for
your body to handle the home body detox program safely. It also makes the side effects of a home
body detox program significantly milder making it easier to maintain and easier to live life even while
you are going through the detoxification process.

There are some other things to consider as well to make sure that your home body detox program is
both successful and contains the least amount of issues when it comes to side effects. Remember to
drink plenty of water when you are on a home body detox program. Even the mildest of home body
detox programs are going to be hard on the body.

By drinking plenty of water during a home body detox plan, you can avoid the side effects such as
headaches and many times muscle aches and pains.
