First Time Ever – Telethon Mega Bingo at Burswood
30-October-2009
32 Buckle My Shoe, 66 Clickety Click, 17 Dancing Queen….
Telethon Mega Bingo is here!
One huge Bingo night never before seen in Perth will be held at Burswood Dome on
Wednesday 18 November, with massive cash giveaways.
Adding to the night’s jackpot, a car from City Motors Holden will be raffled off for
Telethon, and one lucky Western Australian will walk out with the keys to their brand new
Holden Barina, valued at over $17,000.
City Motors Holden Chief Executive Officer Bronte Howson said that City Motors were
honoured to support Telethon Mega Bingo in partnership with Burswood, to help Telethon
improve the lives of young children in Perth.
“It’s a privilege to be part of this first time event and we hope the car raffle assists to boost
the fundraising coffers for Telethon. It’s such an important cause in our community and we
are thrilled to offer supporters the chance to win a brand new Holden Barina,” said Mr
Howson.
Tickets to the event are $25.00 and include 6 Bingo books, 2 of each flyer and a dabber.
The public can purchase tickets now from the Club Burswood counter at Burswood, from
Cannington Bingo or online at telethon7perth.com.au
Doors will open at 5pm, with eyes down at 7.30pm, and food and refreshments on sale at
the venue. Mal Atwell Indoor Leisure Group are the professional Bingo organisers of the
event, working with Telethon and Burswood to produce the Telethon Mega Bingo
extravaganza.
With capacity for 3,000 players, the event could be Perth’s biggest ever Bingo night, with
the people of Perth making an amazing contribution to Telethon.
Channel Seven celebrities will be at the event to welcome guests and show support,
including well-known personalities Rick Ardon and Monika Kos.
Burswood’s Chief Executive Officer Barry Felstead said that Burswood was proud to
support Telethon Mega Bingo and assist one of Perth’s favourite charities.
“Burswood is excited to partner with Telethon to bring Perth this first time event. All
proceeds from Telethon Mega Bingo will support Telethon, a fantastic cause dedicated to
helping the kids of WA. It’s a chance to enjoy a great night out, whilst making a valuable
contribution to the community,” said Mr Felstead.
Telethon’s General Manager Steve Mummery said that Telethon Mega Bingo was a bright,
new initiative to kick off fundraising efforts for Telethon 2010.
"We wanted to officially launch our fundraising events for Telethon 2010 by creating a
brand new mega event that would involve a lot of people in a fun way and at the same
time raise a lot of money for Telethon. Mega Bingo does exactly that,” said Mr Mummery.
