                                Brisbane Powerhouse presents
                                  All Tomorrow’s Parties 2009

If you like your music festivals a little less mainstream, then get ready to rock out Nick Cave style
as the All Tomorrow’s Parties festival makes its way to Brisbane for the first time, with shows at
Brisbane Powerhouse and Riverstage from Tuesday January 13 – 16 2009.

The Brisbane line-up so far includes Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, former Go-Between Robert
Forster, Spiritualized, James Blood Ulmer and more.

Named after the Velvet Underground song and described as “the ultimate mixed tape”, All
Tomorrow’s Parties (ATP) is a boutique festival that goes against the grain of the larger more
commercial festivals and invites an artist or band to headline and handpick their favourite
performers to complete the line-up.

The Australian series of ATP events (NSW & VIC will also host festivals) will be curated by
headliners Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds themselves who, with their knowledge of all things
Australian (music and otherwise) coupled with their innate sense of the weird and wonderful, will
be sure to put together a unique festival experience.

One unique aspect of All Tomorrow’s Parties is the locations used and Brisbane is no different
with the festival made up of a series of smaller one night stands at Brisbane Powerhouse
coupled with a larger headlining afternoon/evening show on 15 January at Riverstage.

Promoter Barry Hogan started the festival in 1999 after Scottish band Belle and Sebastian
pitched the concept to him. Guest curators for the UK festivals have included Australian trio The
Dirty Three, The Shins and Sleater Kinney, Mars Volta, Devendra Banhart and Modest Mouse.
