40 SMB Postgraduate Scholarships on offer for September 2010 Entry 1. Value of SMB Scholarships/Awards: 10 SMB Management Awards (up to £2000 per award) 10 SMB Specialist Masters Awards (up to £2,000 per award) 20 MBA Ambassador Scholarships (up to £3,000 per award) 2. Eligibility: All applicants (overseas and EU/UK) to an SMB Taught Masters Programme. Existing or deferred applicants can be considered for the awards provided they submit the information mentioned in point 5. 3. Criteria: Academic Excellence. Note: For mature and non‐graduate applicants, consideration may be given to their contribution in the professional and business domain. 4. Deadline for applications: 30th April 2010. Awards will be announced by the end of May 2010. Note: The Schools reserves the right not to offer all or any of the awards, subject to the quality of applications received. Scholarships will be deducted from the published tuition fees for 2010 entry and the award cannot be deferred to a later enrolment. SMB Scholarships cannot be combined with any other awards / scholarships offered by Aberystwyth University. 5. Application procedures: New applicants: In addition to the documents required by the Postgraduate Admissions Office, applicants who wish to be considered for any of the awards or scholarships must include a word‐ processed essay on one of the following: For the SMB Management Awards: A 1,000 words essay reflecting on your prior learning experience (and work experience, if applicable) in management and how you perceive this postgraduate course will contribute to your career and personal development. For the SMB Specialist Masters Awards (Advanced Marketing): An academic essay of 3,000 words discussing the contemporary field of Marketing theory. For the SMB Specialist Masters Awards (Accounting and Finance or International Finance): A 1,000 words essay reflecting on your prior learning experience (and work experience, if applicable) in the area of Accounting or Finance and how you perceive this specialist course will contribute to your career and personal development. For the MBA Ambassador Scholarships: A 1,000 words essay reflecting on a management (or business) issue or challenge you have personally experienced in your current or past employment, and how you perceive the MBA will contribute to their career and personal development. Existing (or deferred) applicants: Using the same guidance mentioned above, please send your word‐ processed essay directly to the School of Management and Business, quoting your name, course you have been accepted for, and your applicant reference number.
