The Alliant International University-Los Angeles Commencement Ceremony will be held on Sunday, June 6, 2010 at 12:30 PM at
the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. We are in the process of finalizing the list of eligible participants.
Who is eligible to participate in the ceremony?
Terminal Master’s and Doctoral degree candidates may participate if the only outstanding requirement is the final internship.
Non-Terminal Master’s If your non-terminal master’s degree will be posted by May 21, 2010, you are eligible to participate in
commencement. If you have any questions about requirements, please consult your program office for assistance.
By now, you should have already turned in both your Application for Degree and Commencement Participation Form along with the
appropriate diploma fee. If you have not done so, contact Kiana Porter, Registrar’s Assistant at (626) 270-3319 or via e-mail at

To be included in the commencement program without an asterisk, by May 7, 2010 you must have:

Submitted a copy of your dissertation/doctoral project signature page, signed by your Doctoral Project Supervisor/Committee or
Dissertation Chair/Committee as well as a copy of your title page to the Student Services Office.

Glossary of Terms
Your completion date is the date that you have met all
curriculum requirements (coursework, internship,
therapy, dissertation/doctoral project). For clinical
students, it is the date after which you may begin
collecting post-doc hours. For all Psy.D. and Ph.D.
students it is the date after which you may legally call

The Spring 2010 Commencement Ceremony will take place
on Sunday, June 6, 2010 at 12:30 PM at the Pasadena Civic
Voices of Diversity arrive by 8:15 AM. Other students must
arrive by 8:45 AM. A photograph of the graduating class will
be taken at 9:30 AM. Students will attend a mandatory
rehearsal beginning at 10:15 AM.
Tickets can be purchased at the box office which opens at
11:30 AM. Tickets cost $13 and are required for ages 3+.
Guests will not be permitted inside the auditorium until the
rehearsal has concluded around 11:30 AM. Handicap
seating will be reserved and on a first come, first served
basis along with all other seating.
Absolutely no alcoholic beverages or balloons may be
brought into the Pasadena Civic Auditorium.
Parking can be accessed from either Marengo or Euclid Avenues
between Green and Cordova Streets. There is a fee of $7 per car
for self-parking. Please allow yourself and your guests enough
time to park and be seated for the Commencement Ceremony.
Students will receive a diploma cover during the ceremony.
Diplomas will be available on May 28th for those students
who completed all their degree requirements on or before
April 24th (including receipt of all grades and completed
dissertation if applicable).
Students eligible for the May 28th pick-up will be notified by the
Registrar’s Office. All other students will be mailed their diplomas
after completion of degree requirements is confirmed unless the
student request that their diploma be held for pick up.

-Graduating students must arrive by 8:45 a.m. Please do not bring any
personal belongings since nobody will be able to watch your stuff.

-When you arrive, follow the signs to get upstairs to the Gold Room. Please
sign in at the check in table.
-When you sign in, you will be given a 3x5 card with your name and number.
Please hold on to the card. The number on the card is your number in the
lineup. Your name will be called in your line up order. Please stay in line order.
If you do not remain in assigned order, someone else’s name will be called
during the ceremony. Graduates are lined up in alphabetical order
according to hooder. Those not being hooded (MA candidates) will be first.
You will give your name card to Stephanie Byers-Bell so she can read your
name during the ceremony.
-After rehearsal we will line up for the processional. Please look for the sign
representing your program. Line up (according to your number) in front of the
