                                                                                         for Staines
                                                                                         The pedestrian pathway that leads from Staines
                                                                                         station to the town centre was in desperate
                                                                                         need of improvement. All that greeted
                                                                                         commuters and shoppers using Station Path
                                                                                         were a few old tree stumps, some broken
                                                                                         fencing, and the remains of a train bunker.
                                                                                         Now pedestrians and cyclists are greeted with a
                                                                                         handcrafted welcome sign, featuring the various
                                                                                         attractions of Staines – the bridge, swans and
                                                                                         boats; all with a vibrant sun watching over them.
                                                                                         There are new stepped bedding planters made
                                                                                         from timber edging and bricks, which display
                                                                                         evergreen plants and spring bulbs (donated by
                                                                                         Civic Pride).
