                               Customer Care
There are formal review and customer satisfaction
mechanisms in place, but you can ask at any time
for a review or give feedback on the service you
are receiving. Our aim is to provide a service
tailored to customer’s needs. Details of the Agency’s
customer care standard and performance information
is published on our regular Newsletters and on the website, or you
can contact the Agency and we will send details.

How do I pay for the cost of the works?
There are various ways of funding the work done:

          • Grants
Some of our customers receive grants. The availability of home
improvement grants will vary from one property to another, even within
a local authority. We can advise you on your entitlement to financial help.

We can also help you to fill in forms, keep you in touch with
local authority staff and inform you of progress.

          • Benevolent Funding
If you do not qualify for a local authority grant, it may be possible
to seek funding from a charitable organisation or benevolent fund - for
example, you may have been a member of a trade union who could
assist you with funding. We will approach charities on your behalf,
and assist you with completing the application forms.

     • Savings/Loans
Some customers opt to pay for work from their savings. Others may wish
to consider a loan. We can help you to get information from banks and
building societies on loans that may be appropriate for your needs.

     • Equity Release
Some customers opt to release some of the value in their home to
finance repairs and home improvements. By improving your home,
you can often increase its value by more than the amount of equity
you released. However, you should always contact an independent
financial advisor to discuss what type of equity release would best suit
     your circumstances.

                                                                                5

          • Social Security benefits
We can advise you on Social
          Security and disability benefits and
will assist you to find specialist
          advice, should you need it.

          How much will I have
          to pay Anchor?
If you decide to carry out building
work with our help, we charge up to 15%, of the net cost of the work
to include surveys, preparation of schedules of works, specifications,
          quotations, monitoring, and final certification.

This fee is often included in any grant for which you may be
eligible and may be included in charitable applications for funding.
The cost is confirmed to you in writing before work begins.

Will I need to move out while the work
          is being done?
Most people are able to stay at home while the work is being done.
However, if there is structural work involved such as removing floors or
the use of chemicals for damp treatment, it may be necessary for you
to move out temporarily. If so, we may be able to help you find
          somewhere to stay.
