Lufthansa grows in Düsseldorf: Resumption of Toronto
service and new nonstop connections to European
summer hotspots

East Meadow, NY, Jan. 26, 2010 -- Lufthansa continues to expand in Düsseldorf: With the
start of the summer flight schedule, the airline will resume services from Toronto and offer
new nonstop connections to Athens, Greece; Dubrovnik, Croatia; Gdansk, Poland and
Naples, Italy. The summer timetable for Düsseldorf, Lufthansa’s boutique-style hub in
Germany, will include non-stop flights to 58 destinations across Europe and North America.

Starting May 13, an Airbus A330-300 will operate up to five times per week (daily except
Tuesdays and Wednesdays) between Toronto and Düsseldorf. Connecting flights from 12
other Canadian and U.S. cities are available through Star Alliance partner Air Canada,
including Winnipeg, Edmonton, Vancouver, Boston, Minneapolis/St. Paul and
Raleigh/Durham.

“The resumption of our Toronto-Düsseldorf service -- together with an extension of our
Miami-Düsseldorf flights -- is a clear response to the increased demand we’re seeing for
services between North America and Düsseldorf,” said Jens Bischof, Vice President, the
Americas for Lufthansa. The seasonal Miami-Düsseldorf connection will be extended
through May 23 this year and again from October 8, 2010. Nonstop widebody services from
Newark (New Jersey) and Chicago will continue to be flown throughout the year. Lufthansa
is the only airline offering a three-class cabin with in-seat video service in Economy Class on
routes between North America and Düsseldorf.

Lufthansa will also be the only airline offering flights from Düsseldorf to Gdansk this
summer. Starting March 30, Gdansk will be served by five weekly flights (Mondays-Fridays)
operated by a Canadair Regional Jet 700 (CR7). Naples is an ideal starting point for
vacationers headed to the Gulf of Naples, the Amalfi coast or the legendary Italian resort,
Capri. Lufthansa is commencing its first non-stop flights to Naples from Düsseldorf in the

summer timetable. A Canadair Regional Jet 900 (CR9) will connect Düsseldorf with the
Campania region twice per week, on Thursdays and Saturdays.

Athens and Dubrovnik typify the variety of destinations Lufthansa is serving from Düsseldorf
with its dense, non-stop route network. Athens will be served five times per week with a
CR9, Dubrovnik twice-weekly with a Canadair Regional Jet 700 (CR7). Also in the Lufthansa
summer schedule again are flights to Inverness, Scotland; Jersey, British Islands; Mallorca,
Spain; Newquay, England; Olbia, Sardinia; Venice, Italy and Reykjavik, Iceland. Moreover,
services from Düsseldorf to Nice will increase by five frequencies to daily flights.
