Career Cruising Worksheet
(When working on assignment from home)
1. Click on Internet Explorer opens to DHS website (http://downey.dusd.net) click on Career Center , click on Senior Exit Project tab, click on career cruising tab found under 10th grade. 2. Enter Username: Downey and Password: Vikings 3. Click on Career Matchmaker “the skipper” and enter your first and last name now click Start a New Matchmaker Session. 4. Answer all questions, carefully choosing from one of 5 answers. When finished, click on “Answer More Questions” (flashing arrow on the right side of the screen). After the second set of questions, scroll down to Your Suggested Career Pathways and type your two pathways here: 1. 2.
5. Go to “Other Options: and click on SAVE to your Portfolio, and Create a NEW One. Fill in your information and use your DHS ID# for your Username and your date of birth for your Password. 6. The top 10 careers are listed. Click on your 1st Pathway then pick a career from the list. If you need more information to help you decide, click the job and on the next screen choose job description. Once the career is chosen, start answering questions 1 through 10. 7. When complete, neatly staple all four pages together in order and turn it in for a grade. You may complete a second career survey (pages 2, 3 and 4 for extra credit. Be sure to save your first career survey by name then open the extra credit form. You may save any information to your portfolio, and you can create a resume, look for schools and plan your career path. You can access your portfolio at any time using the internet with Username: Downey and Password: Vikings and logging in using your own portfolio Username (ID#) and Password (DOB)
