National Speakers US Attorney General Office Children’s Defense Fund President – Marian Wright Edelman (invited) Information seminars for students, parents and community leaders CEU’s available for various professional groups The Children’s Defense Fund's vision with it's Cradle to Prison Pipeline campaign is to reduce detention and incarceration by increasing preventive supports and services children need, such as access to quality early childhood development and education services and accessible, comprehensive health and mental health coverage. Emphasis must be shifted for the sake of our children and our nation's future. The South Carolina Summit’s Goal: Heighten the awareness of SC citizens about the Cradle to Pipeline Problem Identify the strategies needed to dismantle the pipeline via health, education, and community development At the end of the Summit, participants will: Be informed of the national agenda to address this problem Hear from SC leaders about state and local efforts to dismantle the pipeline Child Care and Health Education Family/Community Initiatives Law Enforcement We created the Pipeline and we have the power, knowledge and will to dismantle it.
