Application forms received after 7 November 2008 will be classed as late and will be
processed as soon after March 2009 as possible. Late applications will only be allocated
places once the applications received prior to 7 November 2008 have been processed.
Please thoroughly read through ‘The Next Step’ – to a High School or Academy in Luton
booklet before completing this application form. The booklet contains important
information on the transfer process and it is essential that you follow the procedures
detailed in the booklet.
If you specify Cardinal Newman Catholic School as a preference you will also need to complete the
blue supplementary form included in the pack and enclose a copy of your child’s baptismal
certificate.
Please use this application form to apply for a place at a Luton academy or a Luton high school
(including Cardinal Newman Catholic School) and schools/academies outside of the Borough.
If your child attends a school in Luton, this form must be returned to your child’s
junior/primary school. If your child attends a school outside of Luton, or a school that is not
maintained by Luton Borough Council, please return this form directly to the Admissions
Team.

If you have recently moved address within Luton or have moved into Luton, you must show the
following original documentation to a member of staff at your child’s current school if this is in Luton,
or to a member of the Admissions Team at Unity House. If your child attends a school outside of
Luton or a school that is not maintained by Luton Borough Council the following documentation
must be shown to the Council’s Admissions Team:
Your most recent child benefit annual statement which shows your address;
A recent council tax bill or gas bill or electricity bill or water bill. Please note, the
Admissions Team do not accept telephone bills, credit card or bank statements as
proof of address.
In addition, if your child attends a school outside of Luton or a school that is not maintained
by Luton Borough Council, the Admissions Team will need to see your child’s birth
certificate.
The Admissions Team will be operating drop-in sessions where parents/carers will be able to bring
in the original documents to be photocopied. The sessions are as follows:
Tuesdays & Thursdays 2pm – 4pm
Wednesdays & Fridays 10am – 12noon
