                          Dare 2 Drop (M.T.Groove)
Important Note : The scores below are my own assessment – They take into account class feedback/reaction
 – But ultimately they are my own view – To see the class scores check out my Dances Taught pages & see a
            rating out of 5 from the dancers themselves – We agree most times – But not always !!

Soul Energy (Michele Perron)
Ike Turner (I Don’t Want Nobody)
Intermediate
Dance 9 Music 9
48/2

An awesome West Coast track & a really cool dance – A mix of traditional rock/shuffles,
with some neat turn/touches in the middle – This dance is more about hitting the beat really
well & the class really enjoyed it – West Coast not always a hit but this one hit the mark
well.

Bring It On Down (Guyton Mundy)
Flii Stylz & Tenshus (Battle With Me)
Higher Intermediate
Dance 10 Music 10
Phrased

A Guyton classic – Reasonably easy steps, mostly made cool by the styling – And whilst a
long phrased/sequence the music does help you – It’s great funky fun too – Awesome dance.

My Heart (Teresa & Vera)
Jake Mathews (My Heart Won’t Let You Leave My Mind)
Intermediate
Dance 8 Music 8
64/4

A country classic – Neat East Coast with traditional steps – Ideal for experienced mainline
country lovers – Cool hip turns & touch/heel/step sequence – Class enjoyed this one – A
good country one to throw into the Mainline mix – And a must for those ‘Countryline’
classes I’d have thought, such as that just started by T&V themselves coincidentally !! 

Tell Me Bout It (Rachael McEnaney)
Joss Stone (Tell Me Bout It)
Intermediate/Advanced
Dance7 Music 8
32/2

Some ‘advanced’ & cool & different moves in this fast & funky West Coast which Rachael
released back at Dragonfest – When I was dancing it I was thinking how this could easily
have been a classic Guyton dance it’s that sort of music & steps – In the Still Dirrty league –
A great dance by Rachael & well received by the class but it will take a few weeks to master
– Well worth the effort for sure.

Bailando Suave (Shaz Walton)
Beyonce (Beautiful Liar)
Higher Intermediate
Dance 9 Music 8
48/4

Another classic funky Shaz dance I’d say – As ever really cool & different moves – No
question about the quality of the dance - In this case I suspect it will come down to the track
which I know everyone is not keen on – I’d urge Shaz dance fans to give it a try though even
if the music does not initially inspire you – I was not sure of the music but it is one that
grows on you as they say !!  – Popular with the class – Lots of hips & cool styling – A neat
funky cha cha.

Alfie (CatoLarsen)
Lily Allen (Alfie)
Beginner
Dance 10 Music 10
32/4

Had seen the dance sheet before – Had listened to the track before ……. But it was only
when I saw a club group dancing it up in Stirling for the first time at a weekend event &
having such fun with it that I realised just how good this dance was – I’ve scored it 10-10
because the combined effect is a 10/10 dance for sure – Both my beginner classes loved it &
gives me that sort of ‘Rio’ feeling.

Not Like That (Robbie M. Hickie)
Ashley Tisdale (Not Like That)
Easy Intermediate
Dance 10 Music 10
32/4
This is just an awesome dance track that inspires you to dance – And it is another cool dance
too from Robbie – A big hit with the Mainline class who just love other great dances just
lately from Robbie such as A Gigolo & Crazy Cha – Cool paddle/hip turns at the beginning –
Nice & easy – Just dance !! 

=====

You’re The Inspiration (Niels Poulsen)
Chicago (You’re The Inspiration)
Intermediate
Dance 10 Music 10
48/2

If you like Night Clubs you just can’t not do this one – A combination of classic & different
night club moves to an awesome track – Lovely ½ diamond ‘fallaway’ sequence – The
Newline class loved it – It is every bit as good as Niels’s With These Eyes hit – And Rob’s
Fowler’s latest hit Totally Nightclub – That’s how good I thing it is.

=====

Walking On The Sun (Paul McAdam)
SmashMouth (Walking On The Sun)
Intermediate
Dance 8 Music 8
32/2

Paul released this one at Dragonfest – It’s quite an easy dance made interesting with some
really cool funky ‘Cross Hip Roll’ – A faster than normal 8&1 cha cha to a track that is
refreshingly different too – The same in many ways to Scott’s Sailaway Cha. The class
enjoyed it although not as much as Sailaway Cha or Paul’s current hit Stand By Me Cha.

=====

NIMBY (Maggie Gallagher)
Burton Cummings (Your Backyard)
Intermediate
Dance 9 Music 10
64/4

Am awesome swing track – And a cool dance that flows along just great – Classic/traditional
steps – Would really recommend this to all traditional/experienced/mainstream classes who
like a good beat & cool country – It’s not a country track really but it could be !! 

=====

No Mans Land (Craig Bennett)
Beverly Knight (No Mans Land)
Intermediate
Dance 8 Music 9
32/4

A lovely Night Club by Craig to a cool track which was well received at our Sunday-Out
workshop & at class on Wednesday – Nice turn sequence make it well different &
interesting.

=====

Dare 2 Drop (M.T.Groove)
Houston (I Like That)
Intermediate
Dance 10 Music 10
48/4

Another great funky dance from MT whose So Empty & Explicit are still big funky hits with
us – Lots of cool new moves & some tricky timing that hits the beat real well keep it
interesting & cool – The class really enjoyed this one – If you are into funky Newline, don’t
miss out on MT’s great dances …….. Looking forward to their next new one which will
probably for our Newline weekend in September.

=====

Cheatin’ Myself (Guyton Mundy)
Amy Winehouse (You Know I’m No Good)
Intermediate
Dance 8 Music 9
32/4

An ok traditional sort of cha cha to a cool & different track – An easy dance well received –
Reminds me of Scott’s Sailaway Cha in many ways – Not least the same sort of thing from
guys who are obviously known more for funkier & harder dances – But can do easier ones of
equal quality !! 

=====

In It To Win It (Craig Bennett)
Corbin Bleu (Push It To The Limit)
Higher Intermediate
Dance 9 Music 10
32/2x2

Great track – Cool dance – Fast & funky stuff really well received by the class – A big hit
too at our Sunday-Out a few weeks back – Most of the class already knew it from then & had
danced it at the social – I was mainly teaching it to myself come to think of it !! 

=====

Love Today (Pete Harkness)
Mika (Love Today)
Intermediate
Dance 9 Music 8
64/2

I have to admit that as much as it looked good I was just not keen on the track & had decided
not to do it, but seeing all the great reviews on it recently I decided I should give it a go
anyway - The class loved it, just as popular as we have been reading about elsewhere - The
dance flows really well & I have to say that the music is growing on me big time !! :-) - The
dance really does make the difference - Really neat - Especially the double kick ball cross
turning sequence - Great stuff.

=====

My New Life (John Offermans)
The Lennerockers (High Class Lady)
Beginner/Improver
Dance 9 Music 9
48/4

The Improvers loved this one - Great rock n' roll track two step - A bit like Speak To The
Sky ----- Ideal for Beginner/Improvers – Cool dance beat - Saw a bunch dancing &
enjoying it at our Stirling weekend a few weeks back – Some classic Locks, Turns & Strut
moves – Having as much fun with Alfie & Candi Cha just now in the beginner classes.

=====

Crystal Clear (Kate Sala)
Michael Buble (Everything)
Intermediate
Dance 7 Music 9
64/2

Nice smooth dance that flows along really well to a lovely track – Big hit, especially with the
Buble fans !! 

=====

U Don’t Know Me (Paul McAdam)
Basement Jaxx (U Don’t Know Me)
Intermediate
Dance 7 Music 8
32/2

Was not convinced about this one myself – Saw it at Dragonfest – Not much feedback/take-
up on it really that I saw, but a few of the class came back from a weekend event where they
did it & asked me to go over it – Pretty well received – A relatively easy but fast funky dance
– It was mainly the tag that put me off – Vines & Marching did not seem cool !!! – But
actually it is cool when you dance it & it is growing on me & after doing the tag after walls 1
& 3 you actually miss doing it for the rest of the dance !!!  – Some of the class at least
loved it – A bit like Paul’s Walking On The Sun – A split class really but we’ll keep both
going for the ones that like them !!
