Division Business Plan Worksheet 2007 Division: ACOS 1 ACOS Symposia It is our intention, to host a Symposium this year possibly focusing Automation Technology as it applies to the Water Industry. I have requested that possibly an NVI be granted. I will also approach headquarters for support. 2 EXPO 2007 a b c Presenters: Have 12 presenters provide papers including at least one tutorial. Reviewers: Have 2 reviewers associated with ACOS available to review papers. Developers: For five sessions, have at least 2 session developers. The lead for
this will come from the Division’s program Chair. . . 3 Publications and Communications Newsletters: A minimum, of 2 newsletters will be published this year, and will be sent to ACOS Division members electronically. The latest newsletter will also be posted on the ACOS Web-Site. One newsletter would follow the President’s Spring meeting at the end of April, and the second will precede the President’s Fall meeting and EXPO 2007 in late October. 4 Web-Site Activity The current objective is to continue to maintain an active ACOS Web-Site to be used for the dissemination of both technical and Event information to our membership.
The site will be maintained and updated by our Web Master working with the ISA Staff. 5 Honors and Awards a Society Awards, Fellows: Consider potential candidates for ISA Fellow, and if
the officers decide a person being an ACOS member or who has made contributions in automatic systems and control, prepare the application and sponsor the candidate. b Division Awards
Recognize three best papers given at EXPO 2007 that relate to ACOS technologies, The evaluation criteria will be established by the ACOS Program Chair. Each award will consist of a $ 150 check and a certificate of appreciation from the Division. 6 Member Services a. New member welcome letter is to be revised twice during the year. b. Technical Committees: establish one new technical committee. 7 Division Leaders By year- end, have a Division Director elect-elect in place. 8 Presidents Meetings a. An ACOS representative will attend at each President’s meeting in addition to any participation by the Program Chair. b. A Division business meeting will be scheduled for both the Presidents Spring meeting as well as the Presidents Fall meeting. c. A Division Luncheon will be held during ISA EXPO 2007. 9 Standards & Practices Participation a. A significant S&P article will appear in each of our Newsletters and be posted on our Web-Site. *********
