MALAYSIA / NEW ZEALAND WORKING HOLIDAY SCHEME APPLICATION CHECKLIST

There are 1150 places available annually under this scheme to young citizens of Malaysia for a stay of 6 months.
Please note that applicants may be granted a visa under this scheme once only.
To be eligible under this scheme, you must: (i) be a citizen of Malaysia, be at least 18 and not more than 30 years old, and not be accompanied by children (ii) hold a return air ticket or sufficient funds to purchase such a ticket (iii) have a minimum of NZ$2,250 available funds to meet your living costs in New Zealand (iv) meet our health and character requirements (v) satisfy the visa officer that your main intention for travelling to New Zealand is to holiday, and that employment is an incidental reason for the visit (vi) not have been approved a visa or permit under a Working Holiday Scheme before.
Online application service available
Applications can be made online for this scheme at our website www.immigration.govt.nz. You will need a valid Visa or MasterCard credit card. This is the only way to pay for your online application.

Documents required
You must supply the following documents for your application to be accepted for processing. If supplying original documents, please ensure that you also submit photocopies of these documents. All documents provided must be in English or attach official English translation to any documents not in English. 1. A fully completed, signed Application for a New Zealand Working Holiday form (NZIS 1085). 2. One passport size photograph less than 6 months old to be attached to the application form.

3. Application fee (refer to our website www.immigration.govt.nz for the correct fee). The Singapore Branch of Immigration New Zealand (INZ) accepts fees in Singapore Dollars only. Acceptable modes of payment include bank draft made payable to Immigration New Zealand, or credit card (Mastercard / Visa). Cash is acceptable if paid in person. The application fee is NON-REFUNDABLE regardless of the outcome of your visa application. 4. Original passport or certified true copies of the first 3 pages of your passport. 5. Evidence of maintenance funds. Evidence may include:
original letter/statements from the bank in your name if you are self-sponsored, or a letter of support from your sponsor including bank statements in his/her name if you are sponsored by another person.
6. A written statement on what you intend to do and/or see in New Zealand. 7. Evidence of your highest qualification and current employment.
Processing Time
Our standard processing time is 10 working days. It will take longer if we need extra information or documents require verification.

Endorsement of your Working Holiday Visa
Upon approval of your application, you may come in person with your passport to have your visa endorsed, or send your original passport to this office and include a courier fee of SGD20.00 for the return of your passport by courier.
