‰The  Petroleum Institute’s Women in Science and Engineering
Program (WISE) seeks to promote women’s education attainment,
professional aspirations, social responsibility and personal growth.

‰The  Program aspires to develop successful female engineers
and scientists who make meaningful contributions to the
profession and society at large.

Women in Science and Engineering Program (WISE) are
developing students on two levels:
„Technical level – enrolling females in a curriculum that is based
on international standards for Engineering
„Personal level – develop skills such as team work and
collaboration, multitasking, leadership and community
involvement.


                                
Achievements of The Women in Science and Engineering
Program for the academic year 2008-2009 :
       ‰ Surpassing the 200-student mark in enrollment numbers.
       ‰ Inaugurating the use of specialized engineering laboratories on
         the main campus (Rock Mechanics/Petroleum Engineering,
         Machines/Electrical Engineering)
       ‰ Implementing a pilot project for simultaneous instruction
         between two course sections across campus
         (Thermodynamics/Mechanical Engineering)
       ‰ Sponsoring the first female student group to attend a regional
         conference.
       ‰ Conducting the first course-related field work for petroleum
         engineering and petroleum geosciences female students.
       ‰ Establishing AAPG and AICHE professional student chapters.
       ‰ Recognizing the first cohort of Honor Students.
