The Host City
Mumbai, is named after the Goddess Mumba, who was worshipped by the original inhabitants at the Mum
once stood on the present site of the Chatrapati Shivaji Railway Terminus. The Portuguese, who first arrived
century, called it "Bombaim" or Bay and historians believe that this is how the word "Bombay" came int
tropical archipelago of seven islands, Mumbai was the dowry of Portuguese Princess Infanta Catherine de
Charles II of England in 1661, and became the brightest jewel of the British Raj. Today it is a teemin
commercial hub of an old civilization seeking to find its place in the New World Order.

In 1996, "Bombay" was rechristened Mumbai. Ancient yet modern, fabulously rich yet achingly poor
microcosm. Forty percent of India's taxes come from this city alone, and half of India's international tra
splendid natural harbour. In fact, Mumbai is the very soul of human enterprise. At the city's Stock Exch
paupers are made overnight, and the sidewalks are crowded with vendors hawking everything from ballpoin
mixies. Everyday, half of Mumbai's population commutes from far-flung suburbs to downtown offices, ban
for a living.

Nearly thirteen million people live here - wealthy industrialists, flashy film stars, internationally accla
teachers and clerks - all existing cheek by jowl in soaring skyscrapers and sprawling slums. They com

Scientific Programme
The Scientific programme will consist of Guest Lectures, Symposia, Panel Discussions, Free Papers, Po
Scientific Sessions on each day will commence at 8:30 a.m. and will end by 5:30 p.m. The programme p
sessions, comprising of guest lectures, symposia and panel discussions in the morning, followed by L
programme will comprise of plenary guest lecture followed by free paper sessions.

Free paper Presentation
      Free paper presentation shall cover both clinical and research papers in various aspects of Burns lik
         treatment and rehabilitation. Time allocated for a free paper will be 8 minutes followed by 2 min
      In case the free paper cannot be accommodated in its particular slot due to paucity of time, it may be
       paper with 3 minutes for presentation followed by 2 minutes for questions and discussion o
       presentation, if it is agreeable to the presenter.
      Timings will be strictly adhered to and we trust that speakers will cooperate.
      The presentation should be made on LCD projector with single projection. Windows XP operating sy
       format should be used.
      Preview room will be available for presenters for use prior to their presentations. Presentation of
       laptop computers will not be allowed in the interest of uniformity and to avoid delays. It is mandato

Poster Presentation
      A separate display area will be made available for posters. A space, 100 cm in height and 100 cm in
         to each presenter for mounting his / her posters.

    Two symposia, each of one-hour duration, on interesting subjects are planned. The participants wil
        subject. Each symposium will be followed by an open discussion for 15 minutes.
Panel Discussion
        There will be two panel discussions on subjects relevant to our present clinical practice. Each pane
         four to five panelists. Each panelist will be given 12 to 15 minutes for presentation. This will be
         discussion for 10 minutes.

   1. All delegates (below 50 years) are allowed to compete for the award.
   2. Presentation should be the original work by presenting author. The entire study should hav
      the presenting author and should have been carried out in India.
   3. The work should not have been already published in an Indian or International Journal / book.

Guidelines for abstracts
Abstracts must be submitted, typed in English in Times New Roman font with size 10 & should not exceed
single space between lines. All presenters must be registered for the conference before 30th September 2006,
Please be sure to mention the category under which you wish to present the paper. All efforts will be made to
accepted, in the category chosen by you. However, the Scientific Committee will use its discretion to plac
category or a related category, depending on the availability of time and space

The presenting author's name should be highlighted or underlined.
Please make sure to mention a postal address for correspondence and an email address where ack nowledgme
abstract may be sent.
Please fill a separate abstract form for each paper to be presented. The form in this brochure may be photocopied if more
being sent.
Kindly proof-read the abstract carefully prior to sending it, as no change to this manuscript will be made later
because abstract of accepted papers will be published in the Proceedings / Transaction of the conference.
