Wednesday, February 17, marks the beginning of the season of Lent, our time of spiritual
preparation for Easter’s joy and celebration.

This Ash Wednesday, February 17, we will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a simple “Soup and

7:30 p.m. with emphasis on the Lord’s Supper and imposition of the ashes as a symbol of
                                             our desire for repentance.

This is a very special worship time that prepares us to enter into the season of Lent, and journey to Easter once again. Easter Sunday
is April 4. We begin our preparation on Ash Wednesday.

FCC, Allen “2010 Vision” Golf Tourament

The enclosed flyer provides you with all the information. Get this to as many folks as you know who like to
golf—the more we have the better. We will send this out electronically to community churches, and area
                          Disciples congregations, too.

This is our First “Annual” Golf Tournament—being organized by Chasta Waters and Jim Waters, but they
need our help. We are looking for “hole sponsors” and “cart sponsors” too. Do you know anyone? We want
Saturday, March 27, to be a great day as we continue toward our “2010 Vision,” and then in years to come,
we can utilize the resources of this tournament for other needs and ministries.

As some of you heard on Sunday, we already have some of our “hole” sponsors—Rodenbaugh’s is participating—and we heard from
Sandra Hodgson that The Heart Hospital at Baylor, Plano, where Sandra is Director of Marketing, will sponsor five holes!!! Others
signed up on Sunday during worship—individuals in the congregation who will sponsor holes or carts—and others are helping us to find
more sponsors. It is coming together. Now be sure to get the registration flyer/form into as many hands as you can. We are sending it
out electronically to NTA Disciples churches and Allen churches, and to all of you so you can share it electronically with golfers you

Thanks for your help as we get ready for a great day on Saturday, March 27.

We have now 11 hole sponsors, and 14 cart sponsors. Help us continue to find these as we want to have all 18 holes sponsored, and
possibly 50 carts. Hole sponsor is $100 and cart sponsor is $25.

Update: Still seeking more hole and cart sponsors—and foursomes that are forming, need to get their registration forms and fees turned
in—remember the deadline is March 8.

                                                                                                                              Page 4
