A Frame Gallery‟s Blueberry Pie: All Things Local Art Show: Works created by local artists and artisans will be on
display at the A Frame Gallery, 88 ½ Front Street, from August 2 to August 19. If you are interested in contributing local
work to this exhibit, please contact Donna Giles at 737-2676 or c.d.giles@sympatico.ca before July 25. This event is

Forest Inn Blueberry Special: Visit the Forest Inn Dining Room during the Blueberry Festival and receive a
complimentary piece of blueberry pie with the purchase of any entree after 4:30pm. Offer is valid July 31 to August 9. For

Sioux Lookout Bulletin Blueberry Photo Contest: Six Categories: Best Blueberry Festival Photo, Best Family Photo,
Best Pet, Best Shot of Sioux Lookout, Best Candid Photo and Best Kid‟s Photo (must be taken by kids 12 or under). First,
second, and third place winners in each category will have their names published in the Sioux Lookout Bulletin. First place
photos will be published in full colour by the Bulletin. Photos can be past or present. Entries are to be emailed to
tim@siouxbulletin.com or brought to the Bulletin office (40 Front Street). Please include name, address, phone number,
and category as well as age for Kid‟s category. Deadline for submission is August 12 by 5:00pm. Call Tim at 737-3209 for

Biggest Blueberry Contest: Find the biggest blueberry grown in Sioux Lookout! Bring blueberries to Rexall (60 Front
Street) to be weighed between July 31 and August 8. All blueberries must be dropped off before 5:00pm on August 8. For

Blueberry Colouring Contest: Calling all artists 10 years old and younger! There are three categories: 0-3, 4-6, and 7-
10. Pick up a contest form at the Travel Information Centre. Please deliver finished pictures to the Travel Information
Centre no later than August 9. The winners‟ names will be displayed at the Northern. For more information, contact the

Blueberry Festival Story Celebration: Past and present participants of the Sioux Lookout Blueberry Festival are invited
to submit their favourite story about an event or experience at the Festival. There will be three categories: Adult (18 and
older), Young Adult (12-17) and Youth (11 and under). Selected stories in each category will be posted on
www.blueberrybert.com and writers will be encouraged to present their story (at a location to be determined). Stories must
be submitted to the Blueberry Festival office at the Travel Information Centre, or emailed to festival@blueberrybert.com

St. Andrew's Silent Auction: A five-day event which takes place at St. Andrew's United Church (Queen and 6 Ave).
The Auction will run from 10:00am to 2:00pm Monday to Friday. Bidding closes at 2:00pm on Friday. Please contact Reg

Silent Auction of Painted Antique Chairs and Other Items: The Sioux Lookout-Hudson Community Radio is hosting a
silent auction of painted antique chairs which will be displayed at various locations throughout Sioux Lookout. Silent

Blueberry Festival Opening Ceremonies: Taking place at the Town Beach from 3:30pm to 6:00pm. Featuring face
painting, free balloons, speeches, presentation of the Jack McKenzie Memorial Award, cake cutting, live music and
Hawaiian Hula Dancers. Contact Melissa or Michael for more information. This event is sponsored by the Blueberry

Northwest Farmers‟ Market: Farmers‟ Market offering locally grown and produced food and crafts available at the Town

Jack McKenzie Memorial Award for Volunteerism: The winner of the community volunteer of the year award will be

Hawaiian Hula Dancers: 5:30pm at the Town Beach. Performed by the Carlbom family from Honolulu, originally from

Royal Canadian Legion Steak BBQ: In the Lower Club Room at the Royal Canadian Legion at 6:00pm. Tickets are $15.

Blueberry Festival Kick-Off Party: Marc Ekins, Country Music artist, performs with Edible Rex and The Frantic Children

3 Annual Sioux Lookout “Blue” Bass Tournament (Day 1): A two-day event held from 8:00am to 4:00pm on August
1 and 2. This small mouth bass fishing tournament will be held on Little Vermillion Lake with access through Ojibway
Provincial Park. Registration is $250 per two person team. For more information and to register, contact Cory at Al‟s

Ladies Blueberry “Golf Fore the Cure” Open Golf Tournament (Day 1): 18 hole Golf Tournament starting at 8:00am

Blueberry Festival Singles Tennis Tournament: A day-long tournament starting at 9:00am held at the Municipal
Tennis Courts behind the Ball Diamonds. Come out and meet members of Sioux Lookout‟s growing tennis community!
Open to people of all ages and skill levels with a Round Robin format for playoffs. Registration is $10 per person. Bottled
water is available for all entrants at no charge. Food will be available along with great prizes up for grabs! Please register
