Will the living creatures found in pond water be the same all over the world? Our Thinking on 9/30/08 No. The living creatures could be bigger or smaller or different colors. No. They’re going to be different and have different shapes and sizes. Maybe they’ll be the same and maybe not. Maybe some of the ponds will be the same. Yes. I don’t think there will be different living creatures in the water. Our Pond Water Observations We live in Iowa, and our class looked at pond water from DMACC (Des Moines Area Community College). We did not find any amphipods or dragonfly nymphs in our water. We found 15 water fleas, 2 caddisfly larvae, 1 damselfly nymph, 1 mayfly nymph, 2 midge larvae, 1 mosquito larva, 4 snails, 1 bristle worm, and 9 bladderworts in our pond water. We used a proscope to take this photograph of a damselfly nymph.
