Instructor
CCJ1005 – Seminar in Criminal Justice, an undergraduate course. Topics include a brief
overview of the major parts of the criminal justice system, advanced aspects of the criminal
justice system,and invited guest lecturers from local and federal law enforcement agencies.
Typical enrollment in this class has been 50 students.
CCJ2020 – Introduction to Criminal Justice, an undergraduate course. Topics include aspects
of the criminal justice system, a brief overview of research methods, and several invited guest
lecturers from local government. Typical enrollment in this class has been 140-180 students.
CCJ4664 - Minorities, Crime and Social Policy, an undergraduate course focusing on a historic
perspective of race in the U.S., and its influence on criminal justice policy, practices, and
research.. This course required the development of a class Web site suitable for online
distance learning, several multimedia presentations on the course material, as well the other
duties teaching entails.
CCJ4700 – Introduction to Research Methods, an undergraduate class I teach as well as
studying under they lead. This course was designed to introduce social science research
methods as applied to Criminology and Criminal Justice. The course covered the entire
research process, as well as a variety of different data collection techniques used in
criminological research.
Assistant
AFA3900 - Diversity and Justice, an advanced class for entering freshmen in the Summers of
2000 through 2006 at the Florida State University Main Campus. Primary duties were lecturing
and mentoring advanced incoming minority students in order to enhance critical thinking and
writing skills to increase minority retention and graduation rates at Florida State University.
CCJ3011 – Criminology, an undergraduate class during the Spring of 2002 and 2003 at the
Florida State University Main Campus. Primary duties were library research, exam preparation,
and student reviews.
CCJ4031 – Individuals and Society, an undergraduate class in the Fall of 2002 at the Florida
State University Main Campus. Primary duties were test development, grading, and helping
students progress in the course, as well as maintain course website.
