CHECKLIST FOR INFORMATION IN EMPLOYMENT CONTRACTS Topic Information Names Employer and employee. Job Duties Title and list the job duties. Duration of Dates employment will begin and end. Non-Written employee commitment to not learn from you Competition and then unfairly become a rival in the marketplace. Termination You agree that you’re not free to fire the employee during the term of the contract unless you have good cause. You can fire the employee if he/she doesn’t perform the job duties satisfactorily or violates your policies. Disputes Establishes both parties to agree in advance on a framework mandating non-court alternatives, such as mediation or arbitration for resolving disputes. Entire Agreement There are no agreements between your business and the employee that are not covered in the contract. Employer’s (Optional) Indicates that the employee is bound by Policies the contents of the employee handbook in addition to the terms of the contract. Signatures Both an authorized representative of employer and the employee need to sign.
