         PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE – NORTHERN TRUST (1986 – 2010)

Accounting Manager (2004 – 2010)
    Managed a team of three Accounting Analysts, responsible for monthly/quarterly/annual
      internal and external reporting for the bank and corporation including the 10Q/10K,
      Federal Call Report, Y9C, and Annual Report.
    Responsible for running the monthly close cycle efficiently including automation of
      journal entries, analysis of financial results, and streamlining various processes resulting
      in a decrease in the close process from 4 to 3 days.
    Decreased monthly intercompany differences by 80%.
    Developed a daily consolidated corporation balance sheet by utilizing advanced Excel
      Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP formulas, and Macros. The consolidated balance sheet is used
      by executive management for key capital and funding decisions.
    Maintained compliance with SOX 404 assessments and relevant changes in accounting
      standards as they relate to the bank and corporation.

Accounting Analyst (1995 – 2004)
    Transformed the preparation and analysis of Northern Trust Corporation’s quarterly
      Consolidated Statement of Cash Flows. Developed a process which utilized advanced
      Excel use of VLOOKUP formulas, data downloads, and Visual Basic Macros which
      decreased statement preparation from 4 weeks to 3 days.
    Automated the collection and verification of financial data included in the quarterly and
      annual 10Q/10K, press releases, and regulatory reports. All financial information is
      automatically cross checked and inconsistencies are easily isolated. The initiative saves
      the Controller’s Department 10 to 12 hours per quarter in rework and manual data
      verification.
    Streamlined processes relating to the month end close cycle. Automated the verification
      of earnings and equity rollups, saving the department 8 to 9 hours.
    Developed and presented special reports and interpretive studies by the request of
      executive management.

Accountant             (1991 – 1995)
    Responsible for proper accounting of month end accruals and reconcilement of prepaid
      asset accounts. Automated the reconciliation process which increased efficiency and
      reliability of reported financial information.
    Prepared quarterly and annual regulatory reports including the 10Q/10K, Federal Call
      Report, Country Exposure Report, Y9C, and Annual Report. Additionally responsible
      for reporting monthly and quarterly Risk Based Capital Ratios for the bank and
      corporation. Improved efficiency and accuracy by creating Lotus schedules and data
      comparison audits.
