He was a visiting professor at Yale Law School during 2003, and in 2003-04 is a fellow at the Center for Advanced Studies in the Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University. He taught social and political philosophy at Columbia University, where he received the National Endowment for the Humanities Dissertation Grant and was a Columbia University President's Fellow and Mellon Foundation Faculty Fellow. He was a senior editor of Yale Law Review and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
