                                 Project Status
       Original project scope still in place
         – Substantial accomplishments since project inception
         – More mandated changes to the old code have to be made
            because of the delays

       The revised project schedule will be available after a key technical
        uncertainty is resolved
         – HP has determined that it cannot rely on the database input/output
           portion of the Transoft technology and is seeking a new solution
       Project costs
         – Estimates for additional CIS Staff and QA expense will be provided
            when the new project schedule is available

       HP has taken actions to address the identified issues on the
        CIS Re-Hosting Project. The assessment has uncovered a
        serious technical issue.
       HP is working collaboratively with CIS with the common goal of
        resolving all people, process and technical issues and getting
        the project on track.
       HP’s project team will be successful with the joint support of HP
        and CIS management.
       HP remains committed to achieving tangible progress on the
        project, providing a total project schedule and successfully
        delivering the project.

                        Lessons Learned
       A more extensive proof-of-concept evaluation might
        have exposed the database input/output deficiency
        earlier in the project
       Establish governance meetings with HP executives
        early in the project to enable more effective
        escalation of project issues
       Establish early independent quality assurance
        presence
