     Our core program consists of evening performances that are free to the public. Other
      visits, readings and discussions are small intimate occasions for select invitees only.

Borobudur is s a ninth century Buddhist Mahayana monument comprising of six square
platforms topped by three circular platforms, and is decorated with 2,672 relief panels and
504 Buddha statues. The monument is both a shrine to the Lord Buddha and a place for
Buddhist pilgrimage. The journey for pilgrims begins at the base of the monument and
follows a path circumambulating the monument while ascending to the top through the three
levels of Buddhist cosmology, namely, Kamadhatu (the world of desire); Rupadhatu (the
world of forms); and Arupadhatu (the world of formless). During the journey, the monument
guides the pilgrims through a system of stairways and corridors with 1,460 narrative relief
panels on the wall and the balustrades.
Kraton Ratu Boko (King Boko's Palace). Built between 8th and 9th centuries. Mixed
Buddhist and Hindu style. Partially restored palace auditorium. Ruins of the royal garden
with a bathing pool inside.
Tembi is a village nestled in the sleepy outskirts of Yogyakarta. It is a quiet community that
houses the skilled craftsmens of Warwick Purser's furniture empire, Out of Asia. Warwick
will be hosting us for lunch on Tuesday 28 August.
Gedung Songo is a complex of nine temple established during the Hindhu Syailendra
dynasty of the eigth to ninth century set in a cool valley adjacent to a hot springs area.
Losari Coffee Plantation is a boutique resort set among 22 hectares of coffee in Central
Java. The plantation produces 20 tons of coffee each year, as well as bananas, peanuts and
coconuts. An enormous garden yields herbs and vegetables for the table; practically
everything served at the resort is grown here. All the cultivation is organic. Visitors can stroll
the fields and watch the production of coffee.
Oei Hong Djien Museum houses the impressive private collection of paintings collected
by arbiter of taste Oei Hong Djien. Considered the most complete collection of Indonesia’s

best historical and contemporary art, the kudos of being selected by Hong Djien Museum is
guaranteed to launch a new artist’s career.
