                     AN ACT
To amend the Reclamation Wastewater and Groundwater
   Study and Facilities Act to authorize the Secretary of
   the Interior to participate in certain water projects in
   California.

 1      Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-
 2 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

 1   SECTION 1. PROJECT AUTHORIZATIONS.

 2       (a) IN GENERAL.—The Reclamation Wastewater and
 3 Groundwater Study and Facilities Act (Public Law 102–
 4 575, title XVI; 43 U.S.C. 390h et seq.) is amended by
 5 adding at the end the following:
 6   ‘‘SEC. 163l. YUCAIPA VALLEY REGIONAL WATER SUPPLY

 7                  RENEWAL PROJECT.

 8       ‘‘(a) AUTHORIZATION.—The Secretary, in coopera-
 9 tion with the Yucaipa Valley Water District, may partici-
10 pate in the design, planning, and construction of projects
11 to treat impaired surface water, reclaim and reuse im-
12 paired groundwater, and provide brine disposal within the
13 Santa Ana Watershed as described in the report submitted
14 under section 1606.
15       ‘‘(b) COST SHARING.—The Federal share of the cost
16 of the project described in subsection (a) shall not exceed
17 25 percent of the total cost of the project.
18       ‘‘(c) LIMITATION.—Funds provided by the Secretary
19 shall not be used for operation or maintenance of the
20 project described in subsection (a).
21       ‘‘(d) AUTHORIZATION       OF   APPROPRIATIONS.—There
22 is authorized to be appropriated to carry out this section
23 $20,000,000.

 1   ‘‘SEC. 163l. CITY OF CORONA WATER UTILITY, CALI-

 2                    FORNIA,      WATER      RECYCLING        AND        REUSE

 3                    PROJECT.

 4         ‘‘(a) AUTHORIZATION.—The Secretary, in coopera-
 5 tion with the City of Corona Water Utility, California, is
 6 authorized to participate in the design, planning, and con-
 7 struction of, and land acquisition for, a project to reclaim
 8 and reuse wastewater, including degraded groundwaters,
 9 within and outside of the service area of the City of Co-
10 rona Water Utility, California.
11         ‘‘(b) COST SHARE.—The Federal share of the cost
12 of the project authorized by this section shall not exceed
13 25 percent of the total cost of the project.
14         ‘‘(c) LIMITATION.—The Secretary shall not provide
15 funds for the operation and maintenance of the project
16 authorized by this section.’’.
17         (b) CONFORMING AMENDMENTS.—The table of sec-
18 tions in section 2 of Public Law 102–575 is amended by
19 inserting after the item relating to section 163l the fol-
20 lowing:
     ‘‘Sec. 163l. Yucaipa Valley Regional Water Supply Renewal Project.
