ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST ($3077 - $5711) – ORANGE COAST DISTRICT

The reporting location for this position is Crystal Cove State Park. This position will work under
the direction of the Senior Environmental Scientist. The incumbent conducts concurrent
resource enhancement and restoration projects in the 6 coastal units of the District.
Environmental review for projects will be coordinated by this position, along with work plans,
baseline measures, budgeting, field observations, documentation, and employee leadership.
Contracts will be let for portions of some projects where this position will act as liaison and

PARK MAINTENANCE CHIEF I ($4106 - $4951) – DIABLO VISTA DISTRICT/BAY SECTOR

The reporting location for this position is the Bay Sector Office located at Mt. Diablo State Park
in Clayton. This position will work under the direction of the Bay Sector State Park
Superintendent III. The incumbent will be the Technical Services program manager for the Bay
Sector and have responsibility for budgeting, project development, contract development and
oversight, fleet/equipment management, CAMP/PID administration, Category I & II program,
and FEMA projects. The incumbent will supervise technical services staff at Mt. Diablo State
Park, Candlestick State Recreation Area, Cowell Ranch/John Marsh State Historic Park, and
East Shore State Park. The incumbent must be self motivated with strong interpersonal/

PARK MAINTENANCE WORKER I ($2929 - $3497) – OFF-HIGHWAY MOTOR VEHICLE
RECREATION (OHMVR) DIVISION/OCEANO DUNES DISTRICT

The reporting location for this position is the Oceano Dunes Maintenance Yard located on
Highway 1 in Oceano. The incumbent will act as lead person for Park Maintenance Assistants
and seasonal employees, as well as leading California Department of Forestry Inmate crews
and California Conservation Crews on various projects throughout the unit. The incumbent will
also be responsible for routine and preventative maintenance on all facilities within the district,
which includes two campgrounds and beach operations for the fifteen hundred-acre State
Vehicular Recreation Area. This position will also work with resource management staff on
dune stabilization and restoration projects, application of herbicides for the removal of non-
native plants and assisting with the protection efforts for the threatened Western Snowy Plover
and endangered California Least Tern. The incumbent will assist with the facility maintenance
program CAMP and with purchasing of materials necessary for projects and facility maintenance
throughout the district. This position will work Holidays. The incumbent’s work schedule will be
Sunday through Thursday from 7:00am to 3:30pm. State housing is not available. For further

RECREATION (OHMVR) DIVISION/OCOTILLO WELLS DISTRICT

The reporting location for this position is the Ocotillo Wells District Maintenance Office in
Borrego Springs. This is a great opportunity to work in a beautiful desert environment. The
incumbent will work as a lead to Laborers and seasonal staff in the repairing and building of
roads and trails throughout the district. State housing is not available. The incumbent’s work
schedule will be Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm. For further information

RECREATION (OHMVR) DIVISION/TWIN CITIES DISTRICT

The reporting location for this position is Carnegie State Vehicular Recreation Area. This
position performs a full range of duties, acting as the lead person on Resource Management
projects. Other required skills include carpentry, electrical, and plumbing. The incumbent will
work as a leadsperson for permanent, seasonal, and volunteer staff, as well as California
Conservation Corps and California Department of Forestry crews. This is a great opportunity for
someone who wants to grow, develop and be a team leader. The incumbent’s work schedule
will be Monday through Thursday from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. State housing is not available.
