                                    Closing Poem
                                    by Mark Ewon

Take my hand and say you love me,
Take my hand and say you care.

                       Let’s enjoy our time together,
Let’s share joys we’ll long remember.

                       Always friends, every season,
Always friends, we need no reason.

Take my hand and say you love me,
Take my hand and take me home.

                              NOONWAY!!

Mark Ewon is a past chief of our sister nation the Chickasaw. Many of the Croix Nation
ceremonies, customs and campout formats have been influence by this great Sachem. He
loved the Indian Princess program and gave much of himself to strengthening the program
at the Buehler YMCA.

Mark is a Vietnam veteran who suffered much during the conflict and in his rehabilitation to
civilian life. This poem reflects his deep thoughts and love for the Indian Princess program
as it does his love the daughter and the bonding between them as individuals and with their
nation and tribal friendships.
