1. Ouverture
Evelina Bosi mezzosoprano
Sampled Orchestra
A sweetly suspended atmosphere surrounds the protagonist - just appeared on the stage - while a celestial and
exciting music, full of overwhelming harp waterfalls, gives him strength, so that he can open his heart.
2. Je voudrais être le tonnerre
Steven Brown vocals, soprano sax
Gianluca Lo Presti ambient and noise guitars, special fx
Disorder baritone/vocals and screams
Sampled string orchestra and timpani
In a stormy atmosphere Sturm lets his anger against the ones who have always jeered at him resound,
declaring his natural love for Lybra, who waits for him hanging on the October moon.
Je voudrais être le tonnerre
retentissant dans vos pensées
qui doit toujours troubler
tous ceux qui doivent s’effrayer
puisque les montres de leurs cœurs
ne marchent plus.
Et redoubler, encore! Toute la nuit,
c’est à moi, bien sûr!
Pendant mon concert
de cris suffocants
on verra beaucoup de têtes
tomber au sol
et d’autres s’effacer elles-mêmes,
disparaître en silence.
Mais mon son
qui paraît si affreux
sera certainement
comme celui de plusieurs cloches
qui dansent dans le ciel d’octobre
pour ma petite clocharde,
ma folle histrionne,
ma sirène étincelante
suspendue à la lune
et qui m’attend.
3. Caresses aux cœurs
Evelina Bosi mezzosoprano
Simone Montanari cello
Disorder piano
Lybra sings and dances with gaiety and joy, spinning round and stretching her arms as she were a whirligig,
while an elevated iron lattice separates her from Sturm.
Intermezzo no.1
Steven Brown soprano sax
Gianluca Lo Presti ambient/noise guitar
Disorder piano and vocals
Romantique sera la mort
de cet être méprisé
et par de répétés homicides assauts
déchiré
ce cœur qui sangle à grands flots
hors de blessures lancinantes et...
Oh ma libre et gaillarde gentiane!
4. Gentiane percluse (Stopped at bar 8)
5. Gentiane percluse (Restarted)
Simone Montanari cello
Disorder piano
After the scene of the Blue martyrs (the anagram obtained with the letters from “Sturm e Lybra”), Sturm
recites some verse of Romantica sarà la morte, and so he creates the figure of the gentian. Afterwards, the
music starts but suddenly it is interrupted, because just after its restart this strong and energetic flower will
soon get “benumbed”...
6. Das Unheimliche
Disorder piano
Sturm starts to feel some sense of bewilderment as if he “cannot find a home anymore”, not even for his
purest feelings.
Intermezzo no.2
Steven Brown soprano sax
Gianluca Lo Presti ambient/noise guitar
Disorder piano and vocals
7. Some Guys
Steven Brown vocals, alto sax
Simone Montanari cello
Evelina Bosi mezzosoprano
Disorder baritone/vocals
Sampled string orchestra and timpani
This is the moment Lybra abandons Sturm. He has always believed in such a special tie, quite different
from the usual classic relations between a man and a woman, and just for this deeper than “normal love”...
And now he feels a sense of metropolitan alienation recalling the original famous Tuxedomoon song, here
reinterpreted with a short added part in German language, which describes some hallucinatory feelings
leading Sturm to a sort of schizophrenic state of mind.
How many guys like me
All through history
How many girls like you
Some guys kiss and tell
Love you and leave you
Bring you up take you down
But I - don’t - care...
My heart remains the same – the same
Inside my heart remains the same
mon cœur reste toujours
le même
Lonely days in the sun
Friends don’t call
I watch the lights on the wall
Lonelier nights
I sleep with my sweat
But I - don’t - care...
My heart remains the same – the same
Inside my heart remains the same
mon cœur reste toujours
le même
My heart...
Ein dunkler Saal
Eisiger
Stromausfall meines Herzens
Und meines Zentralnervensystems...!?
I was looking for him
And she came to me
I was looking for him
But she came to me
I was cruising my decay
Where the trams
Connect
8. Vlak k smrti
Simone Montanari cello
Gianluca Lo Presti ambient and noise guitars, guitar fx
Disorder baritone/vocals and screams
Sampled percussion orchestra
Here is the scene during which Sturm begins having paranoiac dreams: now he has the oneiric experience of
the “train towards death”, feeling to be awaited to a tragic doom, to a terrible and unexplainably cruel
premature end on a train with no fixed destination. He feels himself as Claudio, the protagonist of a famous
Hugo von Hofmannsthal’s theatrical drama he has always loved much, Der Tor und der Tod (The
lunatic and Death), so he starts recalling some verse from the opening monologue of this tormented young
man who, at the end of the drama, meets a character called Death, getting to realize how miserable and frail
his life has been.
V nestvarne kraje me vodi sanjavost,
tudi čudni prividi se vtihotapijo in me stiskajo...
Und was mich quälte und was mich erfreute,
Intermezzo no.3
Steven Brown soprano sax
Gianluca Lo Presti ambient/noise guitar
Disorder piano and vocals
Steven Brown clarinet
Gianluigi Cavallari violin
Simone Montanari cello
Disorder piano
Sturm is waked up from his gloomy nightmares by an incredibly inhuman breath, so that he can’t breathe in
a natural way yet: maybe he is still in an altered state of mind that keeps his breathing and heart rhythm
abnormally fast. That’s the “reminder” of the train...
10. Vergänglichkeit
Simone Montanari cello
Disorder piano
Sturm finds it hard to come back to a normal state of awakening, and so he feels to be fleeting, as if his
destiny is to exist in a enduring condition of uncertainty; nevertheless, some memories of his past give him
sweet moments, but always veined with a subtle melancholy.
11. Floculation hypnogène
Evelina Bosi mezzosoprano
Disorder baritone
Sampled orchestra
Could the sleep be the right way through real life... in dreams? Sturm thinks hypnosis can help him in
entering a brand-new world. So he begins to live in a parallel reality, still living in the material one as well,
discovering at last that there is in fact a deep relation between these two states. Some female figures he sees in
a dream as “vestals” dance and sing in an ethereal atmosphere, and they tell him there’s no reason for him to
be scared. There are in fact no true barriers between life and dream, that’s why Sturm can’t be conscious of
any differences...
je me retrouve immobile,
entrailles...
Intermezzo no.4
Steven Brown soprano sax
Gianluca Lo Presti ambient/noise guitar
Disorder piano and vocals
Spirales cosmiques
déchiquetées tournoyantes (elles) naviguent
dans une fête d’éclairs éblouissants
Emmené à l’intérieur des filaments
pendant que la foule moléculaire
s’ordonne...
Tourbillonnante et vibrante tu boucleras, va, va, va...
12. Spirales cosmiques
Gianluca Lo Presti noise guitars, guitar fx
Disorder sampled and phonemic vocals
Sampled orchestra
An angel comes and takes Sturm by the hand, leading him into cosmic spirals; as he flies into sparkling
galaxies, he is swallowed into a black hole and so he can become a part of eternity and a component of an
incomparable energy. Metaphorically this means he finally gets to a balanced spiritual state in pursuit of the
pure Beauty, the best way to reach the ideal of cosmic Love, rejoining his Spirit to the supreme forces of
Nature.
