Management Profiles Introduction
Fiscal Year 2000-01
For more than a decade, the Library Research Center has produced Management Profiles for Illinois public libraries. This year, 625 public libraries have a Management Profile included in the Illinois Public Library Statistics: Fiscal Year 2000-01. Public libraries which either contract to receive all their library service or did not submit an annual report in FY2000-01 do not have a Management Profile. The Management Profile for each public library can be found listed by location in “All Public Libraries” or grouped by Illinois Library System in “Grouped By Library System”. The Management Profile for each public library is composed of the following three sections: Part A: Statistical Profile Various statistics for the library are shown for the current year (2000/01), five years ago (1995/96), and ten years ago (1990/91). Part B: Financial Profile Various financial statistics for the library are shown for the current fiscal year, five years ago, and ten years ago. Part C: Comparison Profile Various statistics for the library are compared to averages for two different groups of libraries. The first comparison group is the ten libraries with the closest equalized assessed valuation (EAV) per capita in the library's population size group. The second comparison group is the ten libraries with the closest total operating expenditures in the library's populations size group. (NOTE: If a public library did not have a 12 month fiscal year in 2000-01, it will not have a Part C.)
