                     Administrative Secretary
                         Job Description

Purpose       To assist by clerical means the senior minister and church staff, the church
              treasurer, and key church lay leaders with the functions of their duties.

Description

   Place up-to-date announcements on the church website (tutorial available)
   Monitor and make changes to building thermostats in concert with calendared events.
   Produce weekly church bulletin.
   Update volunteer serving lists and send weekly mail-out reminders.
   Update foyer bulletin board seasonally.
   Keep church calendar.
   Create mailers as requested.
   File receipts for all bills.
   Prepare a monthly expense report for the Finance Committee.
   Attend all monthly Finance Committee meetings (4th Mon. of each month at 7pm).
   Keep the church library organized.
   Assist senior minister with calendaring of appointments.
   Assist senior minister with weekly prayer log.
   Stock work room and church staff offices as needed.
   Place orders for building cleaning supplies as requested by cleaning staff.
   Keep up-to-date records of church members and visitors.
   Keep up-to-date records of church cemetery and process plot requests.

Computer skills required.
     Knowledge of Microsoft Publisher or comparable software.
     Knowledge of Microsoft Word or Wordperfect or comparable software.
     Intermediate or better typing skills.
     Basic email and internet proficiencies.

Helpful spirit and tone.
       The Administrative Secretary position is people centered. You will be working
       with church members who have requests and visitors who have questions. A
       smiling face and desire to help are a must.

Grammar competencies.
     Ability to disseminate information into announcements for the bulletin.
     Periodic letter composition on behalf of the senior minister.
     Excellence in good grammar a must!
Evaluation
       Each employee of Hebron Christian Church submits him/herself to an annual
       performance review to be conducted by his/her immediate supervisor.

Position reports to: Senior Minister

Compensation
     $10 per hour starting pay
     12 days (4 weeks) non-paid vacation
     If overtime, it will be rolled into comp-time

Schedule of Work Hours
      Monday through Wednesday
      9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
      4th Monday of each month – Finance Committee Meeting at 7:00 p.m.

Conditions of Service
       No member or attendee of Hebron Christian Church will be considered for the
       position. No family member of a member or attendee of Hebron Christian Church
       at the time of hiring will be considered for the position.
