Introduction to Globalisation
(i) Course objectives
The objective of this course is to provide students with an overview of:
-- the main aspects and issues in globalisation;
-- empirical evidence on the effects of globalisation; and
-- the challenges for the successful governance of globalisation.
(ii) Course evaluation
The overall course grade will be based on the following three elements:
-- final course examination (40% of total grade).
-- mid-term paper (40% of total grade).
-- attendance and participation, including one presentation (20% of total grade).
(iii) Course overview
The course will comprise a mixture of lectures by the professor, teaching assistant and invited
experts, as well as some presentations and discussions led by the students. The provisional outline
for the course is set out below:
