Responsible for identifying suitable online merchants in France, for this online directory and search engine
specialist. Sign merchants up as customers, obtain their product data, build database, and provide progress
reports. Also translation of the Hoojit webpages into French

Business Research Assistant - BICCGeneral Cables, (temp.) –
Chester – October 1998 to December 1999:
Contract work for this global cable manufacturer; employed to work with the director of Strategy to carry out a
scenario planning exercise examining the possibility of penetrating non domestic market, in my case the French

Babel-Market – advice and support to improve on the group’s websites, content rewriting,
Google Adwords, advice on exhibition attendance, e-newsletter

Kids Allowed – analysis of a customer and staff survey for this award winning children’s
nursery. Had also provided some initial advice on the preparation of a business plan for the setting up of the

Clown Around – review of existing marketing activities, which led to an in-house staff
survey, the introduction of a membership scheme, a review of the website; also provided support with the
introduction of a Party Bus.

Avalon Packaging – launch of an internal newsletter aimed at improving
communications between the “shop floor” and the office staff.

Screentek (uk) ltd – clean existing customer database, mailshot to announce new range of
products, review website content.

SCOPE (Preston) – Pro Bono work for this local branch of charity SCOPE; advised executive committee on ways
to improve current marketing activities to increase revenue.
Float Glass Consortium – translation work to ensure optimum
communications with their client based in France. Included personal letters as well as financial/planning
spreadsheets and technical summaries. Also carried out some market research to identify key suppliers and
contact details for the project.

Goddard Smith Solicitors – marketing review to identify key areas that needed
improvement for this young firm. Review of website, addition of key elements to the site; press releases;
introduction of a CRM system.


    Rebranding of Elton Games in line with the company having been launched on the OFEX stock market.
       Involved a new website, clothing, new collaterals, merchandise, a promotional video, product cards, press
       releases, advertising planning ensuring the exhibitions stands were in line with the new image.

Press releases
    Copywriting and publication of press releases for several organizations, in trade magazines as well as local
       newspapers. In the case of Elton Games, 31 releases were published in 26 months. Currently doing press
       release work for a B4B networking franchise and a firm of solicitors.

Exhibitions management
    Involved in the planning and management of exhibition attendances for budgets up to £30000, in locations
        including Orlando (USA), Paris (France), London, Dubai. The projects included all activities from stand
        booking, layout, equipment hiring, promotional material, attendance, pre and post attendance work
        (mailing, follow ups)

Membership scheme implementation
   Further to a full marketing review for a children’s play centre, which included recommendations on website
     changes and the implementation of regular direct marketing activities, a membership scheme was put in
     place to encourage loyalty and increased expenditure from existing customers, and the development of an
     active customer database

Internet Marketing
     Provide support for online marketing efforts: PPC campaigns set up, sites optimization, coordination with
        web designer and optimization specialist, advice on presentation, performance monitoring via Google
        Analytics or other tools used by clients etc…

Strategy planning
     Setting up of new business offering property finding services in the Languedoc-Roussillon region, France.
       Included defining market research to identify competitor activities, market potential, the range of services,
       pricing, copywriting of the website.

International communications
     Involved in sales and marketing activities requiring the use of my language skills in French and Spanish,
             o International sales negotiations with South American, French and North African buyers (Elton
             o Organize and attend face to face interview with senior manager in the French electricity distribution
                industry in France (BICC Cables),
             o identify, contact and work with French online merchants (Hoojit),
             o Provide marketing support services to a French retailer, for the French market (Babel Market),
             o Provide market research and translation services to a float glass consultancy, the translations
                being directly addressed to the MD / owner of a multi-site, multi-million pound glass processing

    Identification and acquisition of databases for the purpose of mailing or electronic marketing, use of various
      email marketing tools to create and send email marketing campaigns, participated in the development of a
      company specific database to improve customer relations and business development, recommendation of
      the use of CRM software to small businesses to ensure

B2B marketing
    Extensive experience in the B2B environment having worked with / provided support to an aluminium
      extruder, a cable manufacturer, a networking franchisee, a software developer, an amusement game
      manufacturer, and an office screens manufacturer.
