DEER Menu
May 2008

To the parents of:

In reviewing your child’s health needs for camp, we wanted to make you aware of the menu. The food

service director for the camp said that it would be best for you as the parent to determine if there is

something on the menu that could be altered in any way. For example, cheese could be removed from

the sub sandwich, or eat the eggs but not the meat for breakfast. The staff there can make grilled

cheese sandwiches as substitutes for the main course, but since this is not a restaurant type facility,

they are limited as to what they are able to do. If a meal does not suit your child’s needs, and

modifying what is available will not do, please send along a meal for your child.

The director wishes for you to know that there are some amenities that are available to your child: a

refrigerator to store prepackaged meals and a microwave to warm meals brought from home.

Please let me know which avenue you intend for your child to take regarding this issue, as I am the

liaison between our school and the Kenbrook staff. An email or written note is best for me. If you

need to discuss your child’s situation further, please feel free to call me.

Sincerely,

Mike Warfel
